Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the MA Muslim Diaspora Studies, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1. Academic Background
• A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as Political Science, Sociology, Anthropology, History, Religious Studies, Law, International Relations, or related disciplines.
2. Language Proficiency
• Proof of proficiency in English (IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent) for non-native speakers.
• Applicants with prior degrees taught in English may be exempted.
3. Application Materials
• Completed application form.
• Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• Statement of Purpose outlining academic interests, motivation for joining the program, and career goals.
• Two academic or professional recommendation letters.
• Official transcripts from previous academic institutions.
Graduation Requirements
To successfully complete the MA in Muslim Diaspora Studies, students must fulfill the following requirements:
1. Coursework Completion
• Successful completion of all core and elective courses, amounting to a minimum of 60 ECTS credits (or equivalent).
• Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75/4.0 (or equivalent grade average) across all coursework.
2. Research Thesis
• Submission of a Master’s Thesis (15,000–20,000 words) based on original research within the field of Muslim Diaspora Studies.
• The thesis must be approved by the supervisor and defended successfully before an academic committee.
3. Seminar & Participation Requirements
• Active participation in seminars, workshops, and guest lectures organized by the Institute.
• Attendance of at least 80% of scheduled classes in each course.
4. Research & Academic Integrity
• Completion of a Research Methods module (mandatory) to ensure academic and methodological competence.
• Adherence to the highest standards of academic integrity and ethics, with no tolerance for plagiarism or misconduct.
5. Language & Communication Skills
• Demonstrated ability to conduct academic research and present findings in English.
• Participation in at least one conference presentation, workshop, or publication activity is strongly encouraged.
6. Time Frame
• The program must be completed within 2 years (full-time) or up to 4 years (part-time) unless special permission is granted.
